NO KILL Bigfoot PolicyThe ‘Kill’ Philosophy
Sadly there are some Bigfoot researchers who support a “kill” policy. They believe that killing Bigfoot will answer the question: “does Bigfoot exist?” once and for all. The answer to this question -- this proof -- is considered the important issue. Contributing to science in this way is thought of as valid and moral; if it means that the only way to provide this proof is by purposely killing a Sasquatch, so be it.
Some, like Texas cryptid researcher Chester Moore, believes killing Bigfoot is a good and necessary thing; once it is proven that Bigfoot exists, its habitat can then be protected. However, there is no guarantee its habitat would be protected; and there is the real possibility of it being exploited.
Others, myself included, disagree with a kill policy. If and when a body is found (through natural means) or some sort of absolute irrefutable evidence is accepted by science, that will be a good thing of course. In the meantime, one could argue there is “proof” -- for those that have seen a Sasquatch, Yeti, Bigfoot, Yowie, etc. They know what they saw, and they don’t need proof. Others, (like myself) who have never seen a Bigfoot, think the evidence is strong it exists. I don’t know of course, not having seen one. I don’t need a dead body to “prove” to me it exists; it remains a mystery, and I’m fine with that, as are many researchers and “Bigfoot buffs.”
Flesh and Blood BF vs. Paranormal Bigfoot/P>
One might ask, if Bigfoot is “paranormal” then why am I in support of a “no kill” policy? Isn’t “paranormal” Bigfoot immune to being caught? (Not to mention the irony of expending energy on a creature that hasn’t been proven to even exist.) No one knows if Bigfoot is “paranormal” or not. I suspect that it is, but this does not preclude the possibility it is also flesh and blood. If BF is a type of shape shifter, or creature that possesses characteristics of both, that allows for the possibility of it being killed. No matter how remote that possibility is, that possibility exists. Encouraging those with a penchant for going out in the wilds to kill themselves a Bigfoot -- no matter what their reasons might be -- is not something I support.
