Russian Mothman
June 16, 2008 on 2:20 am | In Global Mothman, Russian Mothman, folkore, psy ops/mind control | 1 CommentI remember reading in an issue of FATE magazine many years ago something about a Russian Mothman. Andrew Colvin and other Mothman researchers have commented that Mothman has been seen in other countries. And, Mothman encounters have been reported in other places in the U.S. other than Point Pleasant, West Virginia.
If the above is true — that Mothman is global and not restricted to a specific region, like West Virginia — then the theory that Mothman is a government psy ops creation doesn’t hold up. It’s possible the government, in a dark rogue shadow mind control kind of way, has something to do with it; but responsible for Mothman? Probably not likely.
I came across this article on Pravda about Russian groups who study Mothman: Mothman phenomenon: I want to believe
Yes, it was on Pravda, so keep that in mind!
In John A. Keel’s Mothman Prophecies, he writes about a Russian encounter in 1908. (The year of the Tunguska event.) Writer V.K. Arsenyev found a man’s footprint while hiking. He had his dog, Alpha, with him, when he encountered an “unknown animal.”
I head the beating of wings. Something large and dark emerged from the fog and flew over the river. A moment later it disappeared into the dense mist. My dog, badly frightened, pressed itself to my feet.”
Arsenyev told his story to the people in the area, who:
“broke into a vividd story about a man who could fly in the air. Hunters often saw his tracks, tracks that appeared suddenly and vanished suddenly, in such a way that they could only be possible if the “man” alighted on the ground, then took off again into the air. (The Mothman Prophecies, John A. Keel, p28)
There are many more stories of winged human like beings from all over the world. Maybe it’s a mistake to think of Mothman as just a singular entity that is personnel to West Virginia.
I Can’t Believe I Forgot
May 4, 2008 on 1:26 am | In forums, psy ops/mind control | 2 CommentsI can’t believe I completely forgot about the following Mothman connection when I started this blog.
A few years ago, I was moderator of several Yahoo groups. This was before blogging took off. I was either moderator of, or co-moderator of, various Yahoo groups, almost all of them having to do with UFOs, the paranormal, etc. Some of these groups are still going, even though I’ve pretty much forgotten all about them. I rarely check in with them or post. (I’ve set up some automatic postings via my blogs; whenever I post on my blog (s) it goes to the Yahoo group.) I have no idea what’s going on with those groups; some of them have other moderators, but there doesn’t seem to be much discussin going on. The exception is FPA or Fortean Phenomena Again, which was created by “Patouchlie Troll” (she’s NOT a troll in that sense of the word) or “PT” as she’s known. That one is still going pretty well, and I, along with several others, co-moderate although I haven’t been over there either in a long time.
Well, a few years ago, I received an e-mail from someone who had started a Mothman group on Yahoo. The group was small and nothing was happening. He wanted to turn it over to someone who would keep it going, and he thought of me.
What was interesting was that I didn’t know this person. I didn’t recognize his name from any of the groups. Yet he emailed me for some reason.
His group — I wish to hell I could remember! — was called something like The Dark Side of Mothman. I don’t think that was it exactly, but the gist of it was, a dark take on it all, including the psy ops mind control aspect. The approach was on the clinical/technical side; electronics and spy machines and frequencies and things. . .(In fact, I just checked and saw that the category the group is in is in the technical category! Guess I never noticed that before.)
I didn’t know anything about Mothman at the time, except from reading Keel’s books, but I was interested. So I said “sure” and took it over. I joked at the time that “Somehow I feel as if I’m an experiment in some one’s mind control game” and the whole thing struck me as odd. I renamed the group to MIBS and Mothman.
The group is still up there on Yahoo, but very little is happening. Just automatic posts from myself and the co-moderator “cryptid hunter.”
