Synchronicities and Warnings? – Brad Steiger
It’s to be assumed that, in this field of UFOs, cryptids like Mothman, ghosts, the paranormal, etc. that synchroniciites will occur. Seems almost redundant to say “synchronicities.”
The “warning” isn’t that dire, nothing so dramatic in my case. Maybe more like a gentle reminder to be aware. . .
I had just finished reading a section in Andrew Colvin’s Mothman Photographer’s II, where he talks about being responsible for one’s own enlightenment, as well as the potential danger of getting too close and too deep with all this stuff, as we all know. Some researchers have just gone too far down that rabbit hole, without ever landing. It’s important to be grounded even while chasing after all these things.
I was still thinking about this this morning, when I woke up. For some reason, it was on my mind first thing. Then I log on and see this item and link on The Anomalist, to Brad Stieger’s Dangers And Hazards Of Exploring Shadow World. In this piece, Stieger writes that:
It takes more than watching a couple of specials on a cable channel and reading a few books to become a paranormal or UFO researcher.
It takes years of study and listening to others who have wisdom and insights to share, among other things.
This is an important article. Stieger goes on to relate the experiences of a group of college students who got too close before knowing what they were doing. The theories as to why things got out of control are extremely interesting, and right on, in my opinion.
Keep in mind that at the center, or at least close to, of all this stuff, is the Trickster, or Cosmic Joker, or whatever you want to call it. It plays with us, it messes around, it thinks things are hysterically funny. Problem is, what “it’ considers amusing is often dangerous to us; sometimes fatally dangerous.
Stieger goes on to include other accounts as well.
Maybe that’s what the meaning is behind the superstitions of Christianity and other mainstream religions about attempting to penetrate the mysteries of the Divine, the Creator, God/s. (“God works in mysteries ways; not for us to question why” kind of thing.) It got perverted somewhere along the way, but is it possible the original intent was to warn of getting into something before you’re ready?

When I was young I used to have some dreams that were just too realistic. After some of them I woke up with leaves in my hands and mud and cut grass up to my knees. These dreams were about flying mostly and most of those were about being a big black bird. I would be myself, then I’d turn into this huge black bird that swooped down on people in this horrible place that was always dark. I’d go down there, turn into a human before their eyes, talk to them about being rescued from there, and turning back into the bird that then carried them to safety. I remember one such dream in which I saw a family of four with two young children of about 8-10 years of age. I thought they were near this barrel with fire in it for warmth until I saw they were very afraid of some huge things milling about nearby that looked like monsters. There were people here and there hiding in places yet this was the only family near this fire. They were horrified at what they were seeing. The place seemed very familiar to me in that it looked very much just like a place near where I was living. When I’d pass this place after that “dream” I would suddenly just shake all over. In the dream they all climbed on my back and I flew them to a place that was in daylight. Three mormons once asked me if I’d ever had flying dreams and I answered that I had alot of them all my life. They asked specifically if I’d ever had ones that had big black birds in them. I was shocked at this since no one had ever asked me that before or known to ask me this. They asked if I’d ever felt I rescued anyone and so I related the dream I wrote about in this piece. The young men who were missionaries both gasped at the same time and blurted out that I was a chosen one and they were very glad to meet me. Something in their teaching for Mormonism taught them this. They sort of lowered their heads and then asked if I were Mormon. I said of course I wasn’t since I’d invited them to my house to speak with me about their religion. My reasons for calling them had to do with other matters than these flying dreams. I won’t go into them here but they seemed very much interested in these flying dreams I’d had and continued to have. Their take on me after I described these dreams was that they spoke with me afterwards with great respect, very great respect. I felt as if they considered me to be someone holy. It was strage to me that they do that but they kept saying they’d been taught that anyone having such experiences were in fact holy. So, for anyone who researches “Mothman” or has experienced the phenomenon, I’d suggest they look deeper into Mormon teaching. For Andrew B. Colvin, the Mothman’s Photographer, Mor in Mormon is close to Moors, and mon in Mormon is close to mound which he talked about in his books. Maybe someone who posts here knows more about these flying dreams with huge black birds and what it might mean to Mormons. I’d like to know myself what they are taught about it.
